Every Successful ERP Journey Begins with Understanding Your Business
ERP is not just about selecting software. It is about understanding your business, your people, and the processes that drive your organization. The first step to my approach in ERP Consultancy is getting acquainted with your business objectives before any talk about the technology. Through independent ERP Consultancy services, I assist you in laying a foundation for ERP success by focusing on business strategy, business processes, and organizational readiness.
Step 1: Understanding Your Business
Any successful implementation of an ERP system starts with having a good understanding of the business. I spend some time learning about the vision of your business, mission, objectives, strategies, and direction. This will enable me to advise you on suitable ERP strategies that fit your business needs.
Step 2: Stakeholder Interviews & Business Discussion
The ERP system affects all functions within an organization. I undertake discussions with your organization's stakeholders and business leaders in order to have an idea of what their roles are, challenges in operations, expectations, and the decision-making process.
Step 3: Current Process Assessment
Prior to recommending any ERP solution, I assess your current business processes thoroughly. Using Business Process Mapping, Workflow Analysis, and other operational reviews, I analyze process gaps, inefficiencies, interdependencies, and areas of improvement. It is crucial to understand the current state before envisioning the future state.
Step 4: Business Process Re-engineering & Future Workflows
After analyzing the current processes, I develop future workflows along with your team members. This step involves Business Process Re-engineering, reviewing organizational responsibility, manpower requirements, and change management plans. The goal here is to create efficient business processes that will contribute to your future success.
Step 5: Business Process Documentation
As an output of this approach, we receive a Business Process Document that covers current business processes, future workflows, business requirements, functional recommendations, and governance issues. This document becomes the basis for ERP evaluation, selection, and business decisions.
